Year of the Pig Hosokawa-shi Ornament

18.00

This traditional wild pig ornament is made with a Japanese Washi paper called Hosokawa-shi, made from mulberry trees.

Each figure stocked by Made Solid is handmade by a single artisan in Saitama Japan. They are exclusive to our shop.

The construction is akin to papier mache.
It is about 3" long with a 5" string.

Perfect as a Holiday ornament or year-round representation of the Zodiac sign.

The history of Hosokawa-shi goes back more than 1200 years. It is all natural and is still made with traditional tools & techniques.  Because of this preservation of history and culture, it is listed as an official Japanese cultural asset.
